I'm not dead.

7.jpg

Best sport ever?

So, I'm totally not dead in a pool of my own vomit. There was this one night when Kungfu Mike drove up from Carlsbad to try and convince his cousin not to join a cult and a bottle of Tequila went bye bye and we watched "Roadhouse"--the only moment of which I remember is when Patrick Swayze rips some dude's throat out--but we were well behaved. As well behaved as I believe Michael is capable of being.

I've mainly been laying low, working and obsessing over my new...obsession: Mixed Martial Arts. I began training in Muay Thai--Thai kickboxing--at this ridiculously intimidating fighters' gym. Everyone there is ripped and intense. Its unbelievable. I have pink boxing gloves and know next to nothing about the sport--only that it is super fun to punch and kick people in their soft spots--and so I show up in pigtails and get sneered at by these monsters, with monster legs and bald heads and no nerve endings and acrimonious rage. Their tattoos say "Kill" in other languages. I know; I asked them. My shins make the slightest little "thwap" on the Muay Thai bag and they think I am ridiculous.

I'm learning all kinds of fun stuff, like how to choke someone to an incapacitated state between my thighs. For real--if you're ever threatening my life on top of me, between my legs with one shoulder underneath my right thigh and your right arm lying across my chest at a sort of forty five degree angle and you're not moving much, you're like totally in trouble.

Los Angeles is Los Angeles as per usual: hot, phony and fun. Also as per usual is the ridiculousness of Murph as well as the unfortunate reduction in blog activity. I know its superficial around here, and has been for longer than I'd like, but don't fret. Many exciting things are in the queue. This should be a fun year.

Licks and leg kicks,
Bunny
