Aww... - March 26, 2009

(Printer Friendly Version)

...you're too sweet, Doug.

I think you're a brilliant and intensely emotionally evocative writer. And a loving and touching woman. And a touch crazy, but it's only a touch and most of the time it's under control. Mild schizophrenia I suppose, which probably has some name or another.

You can and do use it creatively, as have many others. At this stage, a year or so past thirty, it's unlikely to progress and may regress.

Go bunny!

~Doug

But I don't have Schizophrenia. I'm not schizophrenic, schizoaffective or schizotypal. I'm not schizo anything; my psychiatrist says so. I do have problems, but I'm a normal neurotic, just like everyone else. I realize that may be a discomforting thing to read.

I also realize thought insertion/removal is a symptom of psychosis, I really do, and I don't have any other explanation for the phenomenon, which is an unreliable and untestable phenomenon, I know, but it is what it is, and I'm not going to pretend I don't see the world through the only frame of reference with which I'm able to see the world. At best, that's exhausting. At worst, that's a lie, and I'm not really into that sort of thing.

Furthermore, much like Science and Math, I do not have explanations for synchronicities/patterns, ubiquitous prophetic dreams, gut instincts, deja vu's, etc. That's a puzzle for our children's children to solve. Unlike many Scientists and Mathematicians, I'm a-okay with accepting for the time being that I do not know everything about, nor am I in complete control of the world. Only a nutbar would believe that.

I mean, come on guys.

Do you really think, that if I was schizophrenic, and my brain could invent all sorts of fantastical machinations with which to sync my conflicting inner and outer realities, I wouldn't invent my own X-ray vision so I could see naked bodies through clothing? Be serious. I would be "She Lube" from the "Planet Rimjob" in the "Deez-nuts" galaxy, and I'd have special X-ray visions and a magical vagina I'd use to smother my greatest enemies.

Isn't the basic premise of Science trying to figure out the unknown? It wouldn't work if they already thought they knew everything. So for Science to work, the underlying belief HAS to be that we don't know everything. It's strange because for all of of your neuroses you are actually a very evidence based woman. You have beliefs based on actual evidence, whether it be history or medical. Your posts clearly point to that, so it seems like your negative experiences with the health profession has tainted your view of what Science actually is.

I see plenty of people who extol the virtues of Science while automatically disregarding alternative medicine. Now, I think alternative medicine is filled with just as many quacks as any other mainstream field but I would consider and research any piece of information before disregarding it. That's what you do and that's really what Science is about. It isn't 'mainstream' versus the 'alternates' or something.

Bunny Edit: That's why it's important to note the "many" in front of scientists. ;)

I'm going to go with "Best Superhero Ever!"

I recommend ''People Who Don't Know They're Dead: How They Attach Themselves to Unsuspecting Bystanders and What to Do About It.'' Its the 2005 winner of the prestigious Diagram Prize for literature.
Bunny, your a little bit psychic is all.

People who don't know they're dead...

Beth knew she was dead (see "Bunny falls down the rabbit hole" 10.06.04) and Jane knew she was dead ("Why I am crazy" 02.17.09)

let me stop to rephrase...or perhaps to re-think...

Did Beth, Jane and others KNOW that they were "DEAD" or is that criteria only an insignificant detail to them...like...sometimes YOU dream, other times YOU are awake, but you never really think, "Hey, my body temperature is 98.6F"...it is not important to you (unless you are running a fever or experiencing hypothermia...)

Back to that crazy thing...I feel stronger than before that is an incorrect label...I am beginning to think of it as a bad label (depending on how it's used and who is using it)

As for synchronicities/patterns, ubiquitous prophetic dreams, gut instincts, deja vu's, etc...I would not be surprised if we are able to witness the explanations within our lifetimes...but that's just an unsubstantiated feeling...

Bunny, would you mind if I made that, She Lube, into a movie? Because, wow, that would rock ass. Possibly literally!

Not because I'm in the movie business or anything, but because it feels like something that just absolutely should exist.

Naturally the magical vagina model and effects would have to meet with your approval.

I had to read that smothering vagina bit right after watching Teeth....

Posted by: Corballicious at March 28, 2009 06:49 PM

watching Teeth? I heard about that movie...definitely not the same thing as a smothering vagina, which (IMHO) doesn't really sound all that bad! BTW, "smothering" was only for Bunny's greatest enemies! Ah, what delights might a magical vagina bestow on friends and allies?

Ya know, this is the first one in a while where you posted on a day, in a moment, where you obviously got your shit together.

I give that a Thumbs Up.

Love the Lube and Uranus and the Chock-full-of and the Visions. Having trouble with the smothering vagina-that ain't right although the magical part should make it comfortable.
Shine On Bun.
