Peaches - October 26, 2006

Merrill Nisker's her name. She's from that real nice country up north called Canada, an elementary school music teacher/librarian. But Peaches is her stage name. She's a disgusting pig and I love her. She's an American Apparel ad come to life, and I want to roll around in her sweat.
I'm only acquainted with her music via Indy 101, for they play the cleaner cuts of her latest album "Impeach my Bush"--hilaaaarious--ten to fifteen times a day. Even in the morning you can hear the single "Boys Wanna be Her." Have you heard it yet? Heard that raunchy guitar riff? The one that sounds like a growl? Yes, my friends, that is Joan motherfucking Jett playing for you. Yeeeow.
I've yet to see her live. I hear there's lots of squatting, and sex talk, and scanty bikinis and plenty of gender-bending. I hear her female guitarists wear mustaches. Or they grow mustaches, its not real clear on the Internet. That's one of the Peaches rumors. Hirsute guitarists maybe.
Because the video links on her site don't work on my snazzy new Mac, I hadn't seen her in action at all, but that ended this morning when the lovely miss Morgan emailed me a link to the "Boys wanna be Her" video on Youtube. Of course! Youtube has everything on it. I went and watched and was appalled and titillated. It made me horny and apoplectic all at once, and that's a wondrous state to find oneself in. Who among us hasn't wanted to get all dressed up like Ziggy Stardust and put our head through a drum kit?
So thank you miss Morgan.
Licks,
Bunny

I LOVE Peaches. My friend Tiffnips made me a mix cd with a bunch of her stuff back in April. If you haven't heard "Casanova" yet, I think you will likey. And "Set it Off." She's so angry, though! It's a little jarring, but fun.

I know! She's playing at the House of Blues in New Orleans on Dec 2, and I can't wait.

I saw Peaches live at a little bar in Baltimore, I don't remember which one. But it was tiny and so had the lovely feature of me being pressed up against the stage and swat (sweated) on by the delicious Peaches! Wow! Very carnal. She gave a fantastic show -- stripped down to this weird bandage-Milla-Jovovich-in-The-Fifth-Element outfit and eventually demanded food from the audience. "Gum and alcohol," she insisted, "are not food!" She got her hands on what appeard to be a hard-boiled egg, which she sort of ate, sort of blew all over us. It was great.
